Behind the scenes of social science publishing. A morning for young scholars

Are you writing your dissertation or thesis, do you have a publication project (or almost!) and would you like to find out more about how social science publishing works? Join the event organised by Sciences Po’s Library on Thursday 7 December on the Paris campus!

For scholars in the social sciences, the academic production activities that take place within publishing chains (journals, books, publishing houses, etc.) are central and often little-known.

In a context of strong injunctions to publish, the Sciences Po Library is organising two round tables on Thursday 7 December on the Paris campus, dedicated to the editorial process and the work of writing in the social sciences. This event is the fruit of a joint effort with several members of Sciences Po's research centres (CERI, CRIS, CSO).

This morning session will bring together various actors from the research and academic publishing sectors to discuss publication practices and strategies in the social sciences (articles, books, theses, dissertations, etc.), while giving authors an opportunity to talk about their experiences and gain a better understanding of this rapidly changing world.

This event is open to everyone in all disciplines, from research masters upwards.
