OPEN ACCESS MONTH 2023

Celebrating open science from November 7 to December 1! For the 2nd year running, we're extending Open Access Week with an Open Access Month in November. Find out all about it!

Since 2009, the international community has been celebrating Open Access every year during the last week of October. For many years, the Sciences Po library has made it a priority of opening up and disseminating knowledge through its open archive, FAIR management of research data and support for open access publishing.

For the 2nd year running, we're extending Open Access Week with an Open Access Month in November.

To mark the occasion, we'll be offering a range of recreational activities, as well as an event and opportunities for discussion. 

We'll also be taking the opportunity to reflect on our participation as librarians in Wikipedia, the great common work of disseminating knowledge.

Whether for 5 or 30 minutes, we look forward to seeing you every Friday afternoon from 10/11 to 01/12 from 2:30 to 4:30 pm at 1 place St Thomas, bâtiment K, salle K027. Aaron Swartz special evening on Monday November 20, 2023 from 5pm for the screening of The Internet's Own Boy, an American documentary written, directed and produced by Brian Knappenberger, released in 2014 and presented at the Sundance Film Festival the same year. The film recounts the life and death of developer and cybermilitant Aaron Swartz through the testimony of those closest to him. We will will follow the screening with a discussion with Alexandre Hocquet, Professor of the History of Science at the University of Lorraine and member of the Laboratoire Archives Henri-Poincaré, Dina Bacalexi, Research Engineer at the CNRS and elected member of the Comité National de la Recherche Scientifique and Sérgio Branco, Professor of Intellectual Property, Director of the ITS - Institut de Technologie et Société and Visiting Fellow at the École de Droit, Sciences Po. All three are authors of articles on open science and knowledge dissemination.
